Are we working for God everyday? Are we just "Sunday" Christians? Being
saved by Him and having received His grace, we have to display His love
and spread His love to the world. The CD, "Re-Start", contains 16 new
songs, covering various themes on daily life, to remind all of us to stand
still and work for God.
A Chinese idiom says that "the more we practice,
the more skillful and competent we will become". Have we experienced the
same in our spiritual life? It would be very disappointing if the answer
is not affirmative and so we have to review our life cautiously and seek
God's directions. However, He should remind us whenever we are walking
far from the right way.
I am not well trained in music, and I wonder
why God gives talents in writing hymns. The simple answer is that He loves
me and reminds me that everything I own is from Him and so I have to rely
on Him, obey Him and work for Him. It's really another Amazing Grace fallen
There have been a lot of thoughts and queries
in my mind during the production of the first hymn CD. What is the purpose
of making it? How can we finish it with limited resources? Will the songs
be acceptable to God and others? I have got more than 150 new pieces of
music in my collection. But does it mean I am working for Him? Of course
I have gained new experience and friends from the production of this CD.
I consider my contribution is the least amongst the others and their contributions
are more significant than mine as I only wrote some notes and paid for
the production. During the preparation of these short notes for sharing,
I feel regret for not having a better knowledge of the Bible, our vital
daily spiritual food. Furthermore, I have had many reviews to my life
as I was writing lyrics for the songs.
As a whole, writing hymns is not a personal achievement but a process
in experiencing His love and a reminder for me to "re-start", i.e. reading
the Bible and working for Him everyday.
Thanks God for keeping me even though I am not worthy and always make
